FAQs

  • Most clients see noticeable improvement within 6–12 weeks, with full clearing typically in 3–6 months. Consistency with your homecare and scheduled treatments is essential as is patience the first few treatments. You may see skin conditions worsen before improvements.

  • We recommend professional acne treatments every 2–3 weeks for the first few treatments, then every 4 to 5 weeks. This allows us to adjust your products, assess progress, and perform extractions safely.

  • Yes. The Face Reality system is designed to work synergistically. Using outside products (even “clean” or “natural” ones) can interfere with your progress and trigger breakouts.

    *Note - Our team may recommend other products we are familiar with, depending on your skin and circumstances.

  • Yes, but it must be non-comedogenic and acne-safe. We recommend Jane Iredale Mineral Cosmetics and carry this brand in our office.

  • Most clients experience no purging or a mild purging phase. On rare occasions, some may see significant worsening of the skin as the skin begins to clear out congestion. This is temporary — we’ll guide you through it. For those that experience more significant purging we may recommend adjustments to lifestyle immediately as well as more frequent treatments.

  • Acne isn’t just about skincare — diet, stress, and pore-clogging habits (like certain hair products or supplements) can all play a role. We’ll provide education on internal and external acne triggers.

  • Yes. The Face Reality system is effective for teen, adult, and hormonal acne, including cystic breakouts, blackheads, and inflamed skin.

  • Acne is a chronic condition. Once your skin is clear, you’ll move to a maintenance plan — but discontinuing products entirely may lead to new breakouts over time.
